Google Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL specifications confirmed; Details here

The company on Friday revealed details about the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL in the Play Developer Console and later that day leaked more details on a redesigned version of the Google Store, confirming the existence of a Pixel 3a as "new", as well as a Nest Hub Max.

Hours earlier, a Redditor by the name of ElegyD discovered two new devices in the Google Play Developer Console device catalog: "Bonito" and "Sargo".

Spotted by The Verge, Pixel 3a was shown as a product on the shop alongside the standard Pixel 3. They are referred to as "midyear experiences", for a new Google strategy, probably, which will see the launch of new devices in two distinct periods of the year: the top of the range will arrive in the second part of the year, as usual, the mid-range probably before the summer.

As well as flagging up a release in the middle of the year, the hidden code includes a specs list: 4GB of RAM, and displays running at 1080 x 2160 pixels and 1080 x 2220 pixels respectively.

These devices, of course, will be powered by Android 9 Pie upon launch and will possibly become some of the few smartphones to run Android 10 Q. You can check out Android Q's best features in our dedicated article.

While these specs aren't exactly head-turning, what could set the Pixel 3a apart from the competition would be the inclusion of the Pixel Visual Core - the chip that power's the Pixel's photography capabilities. An 8-megapixel wide-angle front-facing camera is expected to be included on the front side of both phones, while Bluetooth 5 LE will also be included in the package. The phone may feature a 3,000mAh battery.

We'll talk more about those listings in a moment, but that's not the only place that the Pixel 3a appeared. Both the devices have also received IMDA certification in Singapore, suggesting an imminent launch of the phones.

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL debuted back in November and were positioned as the firm's most premium flagship devices. For those unaware, these Pixel phones are mid-range offerings by Google. It is expected these phones could be revealed at the Google I/O conference in May.
