EA admits Anthem is crashing PS4 consoles

However, some PlayStation 4 players have reported that Sony is offering a complete refund for those affected by crashing issues.

Despite the game receiving multiple patches since launch, PlayStations 4 users are reporting a bug that causes a major issue: The PS4 suddenly powers off, as if it were unplugged.

They said they really like the game despite all the issues and just wanted to warn other players about the potential danger to their consoles.

I had a problem exactly like the one going on now a couple years back with the Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5HD Remix.

If you're looking for an Anthem refund, the best place to start is the main PlayStation Support page. Live chat is available Monday through Friday, 6 a.m.to 10 p.m. PST and 7 a.m.to 8 p.m. PST on Saturdays and Sundays. As such, it seems that some players have been attempting to get refunds on their purchases.

But not all have gotten success, with some redditors saying that Sony declined their request for a refund. "There were no questions asked other than typical account verification inquiries".

According to the folks over at the /r/AnthemTheGame subreddit, Anthem refunds haven't been distributed out evenly, with them being given to players who are experiencing a particular issue with the shooter.

EA and BioWare took quite a big risk with Anthem, but in this "games as a service" era the game could look quite different in the near future. The less fortunate souls - those who were not able to get a refund - were simply told to stop playing Anthem. In a follow-up email to Kotaku, the person said they were playing on the Call of Duty: WWII limited edition PS4, which came out only a year and a half ago. "A core tenet for us is listening hard to the community". This will fix the issue. That happens with some newer games and isn't entirely odd.

Anthem is out now for PS4, Xbox and PC.
