Kyrie Irving listed day-to-day by NBA Celtics with knee strain

Celtics coach Brad Stevens said Irving's knee appeared to "buckle" in the second quarter and that the 26-year-old will undergo more tests on Sunday. The Celtics guard is listed as day-to-day.

Forward Marcus Morris unloaded to reporters after the Boston Celtics gave up a 28-point lead in a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night.

The Clippers outscored Boston 75-44 following Irving's departure, marking the largest blown lead by the Celtics since 2003. He missed the last 15 games and all of the playoffs last season with injuries to his left knee.

A bacterial infection was discovered at the site of the screws when Irving had surgery in March 2018 to remove tension wire in the knee. Even when we're winning it's still not fun.

The Celtics now find themselves in fifth place in the Eastern Conference. "And I just felt like one thing we're missing is enjoying the game, enjoying this process, and I just spoke on it".

"To be in this position and have a chance to compete for something like that, it means a lot to me", Morris said. "Win, lose, or draw - you're going to lose games - but if we have no attitude, we have no toughness, we're not having's going to be a long season". He offered some honest thoughts about the state of the Celtics, simultaneously being encouraged and frustrated by them playing to the level of competition, why he thinks it took a bit for the team to hit its stride defensively, and pointed out changes he's made with his nutrition plan and recovery over career. That has to be the first goal.

I'm trying to win and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to win... "I watch all these other teams in the league, guys jumping on the bench, jumping on the court.when I look at us I see a bunch of individuals".

Morris hinted at trade deadline drama that may have built up before last Thursday. So, at the end of the day, man - it's unacceptable what we did tonight.
