Meghan told Carla Gandy she was "six months" pregnant which suggested a due date of around April.

Another student - seven-year-old Megan Redford - also chatted briefly with Markle, telling the outlet, "She asked me if I was called Meg or Meghan because she said her friends call her Meg and mine do as well".

While it is not known where, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to have taken a short vacation after spending Christmas with the royal family at the Queen's residence in Sandringham. The royal pair were in Birkenhead to view a public sculpture and visit a number of charitable projects, and they spent about 45 minutes on their walkabout, visiting with fans.

Meghan Markle usually wears neutral and navy outfits, and so royal fans were delighted by her vibrant ensemble. "Their Royal Highnesses are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in Spring 2019", the palace shared. The Associated Press and several other global media outlets report that Markle told a well-wisher at an event in Birkenhead she was six months along.

Their plans for the day included a stop to officially open a new discount supermarket and community cafe set up by Feeding Birkenhead, a coalition of churches, food banks and community groups to help reduce hunger in Birkenhead.

However, notably missing from the party was Prince Harry and Meghan, which journalist Dan Wootton claimed was "a bit odd" given the recent rumours of a rift between the two Duchesses.

Their last stop was to the Hive Wirral Youth Zone, created by the charity OnSide Youth Zones, where they met young people taking part in activities and workshops.
