"The veteran was responding to suspension of the duo for making misogynistic and sexist comments on popular Indian Talkshow 'Koffee With Karan". Edulji had further elaborated that any hurry in getting the inquiry done will come across as a cover up job.

Things are going from bad to worse for Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul ever since they chose to appear on talk show Koffee with Karan.

Both the players have returned home and will miss the series against Australia and New Zealand as they await to learn their fate.

Pandya has since apologised on social media but the pair could be banned by India's cricket board. Diana Eduji, Committee of Administrators member has asserted that no one can be bigger than the institution or the game, so even if this results in them skipping the World Cup, they would still continue with this if need be. The owners of a top-rated fitness brand have lost interest in Pandya after his remarks on the chat show. While KL Rahul does not seem to have made such statements himself on the episode, he did not counter Hardik either.

BCCI has sent fresh show-cause notices to the players, asking them for a response within seven days "as to why they should not be proceeded against for misconduct and indiscipline under Rule 41 of the BCCI Constitution".

"With due and utter respect to Diana Edulji and her contribution to Indian cricket, May I say that her thinking has got "fossil" to contemplate such extreme steps".

".it's good that we have someone like (Ravindra) Jadeja who can do the all-rounder's role if a scenario like that occurs", Kohli said.

Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul have been suspended with immediate effect following controversial comments made on a television show. Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show, ' he wrote.

Kohli added that the two players "have understood the magnitude of what's happened".

He described the news as "unfortunate" and made it clear he - or anyone in the Indian cricket team for that matter - did not agree with the comments shared by the players on the light-hearted television segment that was filmed past year.
