Samsung first showcased this MicroLED TV technology at CES 2018, showcasing how the screens were composed of millions of individual LEDs.

The biggest TV makers in the business are finally ready to play nice with Apple. It will be compatible with Samsung's QLED 4K and 8K TVs as well as "The Frame", Serif TV and other selected UHD and HD models.

In order to compete with Netflix and Amazon Prime's original content offerings, which have been around for a number of years, Apple will need as much reach as possible.

The Samsung deal is the second time in recent months in which Apple has made a pact with another technology company to land its services on their devices.
