However the Spaniard wasn't going to let her own five-match winning run against the German go easily, and took the second set.

In the only match of the Monday's program in Perth, Greece defeated the United States of America 2-1 to score their first win at this year's Hopman Cup, bouncing back after a loss against Great Britain to stay in contention for the place in the final.
