Seattle will be part of the revamped league, with a team playing at CenturyLink Field.

In October, XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck said the league had no plans to resurrect original team names and identities.

Murphy announced that New Jersey would be one of the eight cites for the XFL revival in 2020 and the games will take place at Met Life Stadium.

In all, eight cities will get an XFL squad: Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, and Washington, D.C.

XFL is coming back and at this point, it seems like Vince McMahon and his company are planning something to make this as big of a deal as possible.

The XFL will begin play in spring 2020. Among them is a NY team based at MetLife Stadium. The league will start with eight teams, 45-man active rosters and a 10-week regular-season schedule, with a postseason consisting of two semifinal playoff games and a championship game. Kickoff will be on the weekend of February 8th and 9th, 2020.

Former XFL Development Team Member and former WWE executive Bruce Prichard discusses the launch of a new version of the XFL by Vince McMahon.

He said that their ideas for the league and their reimagined version of football are now being tested.

The commissioner also said that he expects most of the players to come from the large pool of guys who can't stick on an National Football League roster.

Poor attendance, however, shut the league down after one season. But McMahon's XFL is said to be buttressed by US$100-milllion of his own money, and Luck said it is funded for a five-year plan that will give it time to grow.

The XFL will play its games during the NFL's offseason and will "complement", not directly compete with the National Football League, he added. They want fans to have access to players and coaches.
