Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp left fuming with referee after PSG loss

There's every chance the former three time Champions League victor knows exactly what he's doing when he says their game on Monday will be more hard as he tries to make sure his players don't lose focus on the league game.

Liverpool's immediate Champions League future has come down to an all-or-nothing decider at home to Napoli next month following a frustrating 2-1 defeat to Paris St Germain in France.

Liverpool had needed to win by two clear goals against Carlo Ancelotti's side in the final fixture of Group C in order to progress.

Klopp also felt one of the game's most influential players, Marco Verratti, deserved a red card for a challenge on Gomez. I don't know how they go back and speak to the families and wives in the player's lounge. I know it is really hard to stay calm in that situation and even Joe Gomez got a yellow card. It wasn't something we quite dealt with tonight.

Liverpool possess two rising stars in Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold, but they have both struggled while playing at right-back in the Champions League this season.

"I think he will be alright".

Neymar and Kylian Mbappé ran riot through the Reds' defence, handing Jurgen Klopp's men a third loss in the European campaign, at odds with their domestic form in which they are yet to taste defeat.

PSG could've be out of sight in the first half had it not been for Alisson, who did well to deny Edinson Cavani on two separate occasions, although the second of his saves fell to the feet of Neymar, who tucked in the rebound on 37 minutes and double Thomas Tuchel side's lead. I don't want to say Paris didn't deserve [to win], and I don't expect help from a referee, I just expect him to calm all these things down.

Di Maria brought down Sadio Mane just inside the area.

Former Arsenal playmaker Nicholas is tipping PSG to claim a 3-2 victory over Liverpool FC on Wednesday night. The referee did not initially give a penalty but then rightly changed his mind, and Milner beat Gianluigi Buffon from 12 yards.

"Now we have to use Anfield one more time". With Neymar it was even in the first half.

It proved to be another poor night for Liverpool on the road in the Champions League, as an insipid display means there's plenty of work to do at Anfield in their final game.

"Now let's think about the Serie A game at Atalanta on Monday, which will be more hard than Liverpool".
