The statement said Perry felt short of breath after the performance at Madison Square Garden.

According to his reps, the concert dates, which are set to kick off in Iowa on November 30, will not be affected by Perry's medical emergency as he is "expected to return to the road later this month". It said he was "alert and responsive" on Sunday, but would have to cancel an appearance later in the day at a rock "n" roll fantasy camp in Florida.

He was then given oxygen and taken to hospital, after security were forced to clear a path for them to get out of MSG because there were so many people around as the show was closing. At the time, he was performing with the Hollywood Vampires, another rock group he formed with Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper.

Perry is due to begin a tour of 10 dates later this month, according to his website. And the whole Aerosmith crew, including frontman Steven Tyler, are intending to start their Las Vegas residency in spring.
