WWE Crown Jewel: DX defeat Brothers of Destruction

This is getting interesting.

Hands up if you were surprised that Brock Lesnar re-claimed the Universal Championship at WWE Crown Jewel - because we were.

It is unclear if Lesnar will be showing up at the UFC show at Madison Square Garden on Saturday evening but he will be arriving in the United States by Saturday morning - giving him plenty of time to appear. By pro wrestling standards, the match was nothing to write home about.

Brock Lesnar defeated Braun Strowman - It took five F5s and an assist from Baron Corbin as Brock Lesnar once again claimed the WWEUniversal Title after beating Strowman. Once McMahon learned of Reigns' illness, he decided to make an offer to Brock Lesnar.

In fairness, there was a lot of watchable-to-good content on Crown Jewel, even if its bloated twelve-match card reeked too often of low-effort, TV-calibre fare. If Vince McMahon doesn't want to risk having his Universal Champion lose in the Octagon then perhaps he can book Lesnar to lose the title at the Royal Rumble.

Brock is the exception to every rule but this is like John Cena fighting Chuck Liddell in the UFC or Mark Coleman fighting Stone Cold Steve Austin in Pride.

WWE then went one step further, though, by flipping the bird to fans and closing the show out with three objectively awful matches seemingly booked with the sole intent of trolling viewers.

Now who gets to face Brock Lesnar in his return to the UFC?
