Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Renee Young will join the announce team at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. Monday night on Raw, it was revealed that Cena, who did not qualify for the event like the other participants, has been removed from the eight-man World Cup tournament field he was scheduled to compete in.

WWE Crown Jewel is set to take place on Friday, at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Acting general manager Baron Corbin's logic was Cena never qualified for the tournament, so Lashley is now in, even though he's just lost to Finn Balor twice in a row, and he is not in.

After Bryan confronted AJ Styles at the top of the show, sometimes-commissioner Shane McMahon conveniently appeared to announce the pair would have a title match right there, right then.

Despite describing the incident as a heinous crime, the organisation announced that: "Similar to other US-based companies who plan to continue operations in Saudi Arabia, the Company has made a decision to uphold its contractual obligations to the General Sports Authority and stage the event".

Rumours had circulated that John Cena was refusing to appear at the show. "Full year 2018 guidance is predicated on the staging of the Riyadh event as scheduled".

According to Mike Johnson at PWInsider.com, Bryan has officially pulled out of the event and WWE are looking for an alternative superstar to face AJ Styles for the WWE title. WWE reportedly started making other plans regarding the match last week.

Yahoo Sports also noted that WWE wasn't backing away from the event in Saudi Arabia, despite the controversy stemming from its show in Riyadh in the wake of Khashoggi's mysterious death.
