Everton boss Silva: Mourinho hasn't changed to me

Despite Lukaku's disappointing form, Silva isn't prepared to underestimate the threat the former Chelsea man possesses, and will look to prepare his Everton side to stop him. Regardless of who is manager at Old Trafford, new players will be needed, but whether they are now a more attractive proposition than Arsenal is unclear.

United were without the services of Alexis Sanchez and Marouane Fellaini due to injuries and that played a role in Mourinho's decision to not utilize any of his subs. But some of them wouldn't and kept the players and we didn't even know the dimension and nature of injuries.

"But we have to deal with it, and now we are trying to resolve problems step by step".

Jose Mourinho has taken another swipe at his Manchester United board by claiming Everton have the "same ambition" as the Red Devils. "The first period of the season for him [here] was the last - I don't think this is ever an easy situation for a player", Mourinho said. He's scored just four goals this season after returning quickly following his country's exploits in the FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation this summer, where they finished third.

Mourinho is not confident he will be available to face Everton either and hit out at the Chilean FA, as well as other "unprofessional" associations, for failing to send back injured players during the worldwide break. "So we work with what we have, we try to improve with what we have. But they have the manager and the players and they will be putting pressure on themselves to get it right", he said.

The striker has lit up Major League Soccer with his displays and there has been suggestions of a loan return to United this January - talk Mourinho has extinguished.

"My approach for all the matches - not just against the strong sides - is I will prepare and I don't have doubts".
