Google Celebrates Chrome’s 10th Birthday With A New Look

Here's what's in the new update which includes a refreshed design, a revamped password manager and updated autofill.

Google also made some quality of life improvements with the Chrome 69 update.

If you don't want to invest in 1Password or similar services, although I'd say they offer even better protection than browser password managers, then make sure you check out Chrome's new password-saving tricks. One of Google's biggest focuses in 2017 has been their push to get all of the web encrypted through SSL. "We've also integrated machine learning to detect phishing and malware sites, and most recently began applying it to detect malicious extensions". You can select the suggested password or use your own and Chrome can save the password for you. It comes with more rounded shapes, new icons and a new light colour palette.

We love the Chrome Dinosaur game, the one that appears and soothes the feeling of frustration you get when trying to surf the web in Chrome when you have no internet access.

That focus has become even more evident with Chrome's latest visual face-lift, which is launching to the public today as part of the browser's 10-year anniversary celebration.

We changed the shape of our tabs so that the website icons are easier to see, which makes it easier to navigate across lots of tabs.
Google says Chrome will soon let you search for files from Google Drive right in the Omnibox soon.

Don't like the new layout and design of the user interface in Google Chrome 69?

The new Chrome will allow more customisations like enabling shortcut creation and management from the new tab page.

You can now customise the new tab page so you're able to simply open a new tab and "Add shortcut".

To play the game, either turn off your WiFi and open a new tab, or enter chrome://dino/ In your search bar. The Omnibox above the search window, which doubles as a webpage search and "frequently searched" tool, will now show answers directly in the address bad without users having to open a new tab. The address bar's been also tweaked, with the Omnibox (suggestions bar) now giving you intelligent suggestions. Chrome is getting a new look everywhere, major improvements to its password manager, smart answers within the Search bar, and more.

These passwords are also synchronized to your Google account so that they are available on other devices that you use Chrome. For example, if you're a person who loves to have lots of tabs open, you can still do that, but the icons for websites are more clearly visible when you have an enormous amount of tabs open. It will now start showing your answers directly in the address bar.
