Manchester City's Champions League group is confirmed.

The draw for the group stages of the Champions League will take place at 5pm this afternoon, as 32 sides learn who they'll be facing in the most prestigious competition in club football.

Champions League winners Madrid dominated the individual awards, winning every single one for the men's game.

Games kick off on September 18, and two teams from each group advance to the Round of 16 in February.

United were grouped alongside Juventus, Valencia and Young Boys for a somewhat tricky Champions League group stage. Group C: Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli, Liverpool, Red Star Belgrade.

"My father always pushed me to fight for my dreams, I owe him a lot for everything", said Modric, whose silky midfield skills helped Real to a third straight European crown and then propelled Croatia to the World Cup final.

City have it slightly easier as they take on Shakhtar Donetsk, Lyon and Hoffenheim.

UEFA plans to use video assistant referees (VAR) in the Champions League from next season but is unlikely to use the technology this term, even in the final, its president Aleksander Ceferin said on Friday.

When are the group stage match days?

The Portuguese, who has three wins in total, and is the only player to have made the shortlist every year since UEFA created the award in 2011.

Keylor Navas won the goalkeeper of the season award, Sergio Ramos was voted the best defender, while Cristiano Ronaldo claimed the forward of the season award.

Group D features former European champions Porto, Lokomotiv Moscow, Schalke 04 and Galatasaray.

Ronaldo, 33, was a notable absentee at the awards ceremony held in Monaco on Thursday evening, where he was snubbed for the Best Player award to former Real Madrid team-mate Luka Modric.
