Cyberpunk 2077 is now playable from start to finish

As the developers noted, this is WIP and does not represent the quality of the final product.

At Gamescom 2018 in Cologne, Germany, DualShockers had a chat with Quest Designer Patrick Mills, and we asked exactly that. Every decision appears to affect the overall game, and players can choose how to approach every situation with their own methods.

Also featured in the stream are the player's body modifications, an integral part of the Cyberpunk genre and a key tool in the game. The game has a full day-night cycle with weather systems so you'll definitely experience both daytime and nighttime. We still don't have a release date, but CD Projekt Red told us at Gamescom that they've got a build that runs through the game from start to finish. However, we are getting closer to seeing the game on our shelves, and that's definitely something that we should celebrate.

The Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo has practically become a legend by now, with much of the press gaining access to behind-closed-doors screenings and only being able to tell the masses about what they saw.

A mountain of other details are there to comb through, but, to boil it all down, Cyberpunk 2077 looks like it's going to deliver. Elements like gunplay (both in terms of visuals and how RPG stats influence it), netrunning, auto physics, or the game's UI - everything's pretty much still in the playtest phase and we felt uneasy about publicly committing to any particular design. There's still a lot to learn about the game, and now that you should have a better idea of what to expect, we're looking back at some of what we've learned about the game since its E3 unveiling. But mostly it showed off something we haven't seen up until now: the fruits of the developer's long, arduous labors. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract.
