Like the president she used to serve, Manigault Newman is a consummate shape-shifter and carnival barker.

Wilson continued to say that she didn't expect anything more from Trump as she continued to slam his as "a white supremacist" surrounded by other "white supremacists" in a racist administration.

Ms Manigault-Newman also revealed that she was sacked by then - incoming Chief of Staff, John Kelly in December 2017, and claimed she was forcibly removed from the White House.

Neither contained outwardly embarrassing language. In the tape, played on NBC's Today programme, Trump said: "Omarosa?"

But his favorite part of the whole story has to be the audio of Trump telling Omarosa he had no idea she'd been fired.

Ms. Manigault Newman's recordings have also caused political problems for Mr. Trump, dominating American headlines for days - and she told NBC that there are "absolutely" more audio files. She later said she heard the tape herself. "If he also called them, like, 'Hey Gary, I just saw last night's episode". She pointed to Manigault's previous claims that she hadn't heard the tape until after her book was finalized, then pointed to Patton's statement that contradicts Manigault's claim.

In a tweet, Trump called it "inconceivable" and "totally unheard of" that a lawyer would tape a client.

He said Manigault Newman had called him "a true Champion of Civil Rights" until she was sacked.

Manigault Newman defends her secret recordings, saying otherwise "no one in America would believe me". "I think it's a low bar for the president of the United States to simply say he's against racism. The Bin Laden raid was run from the Situation Room". However, the practice operates on the honor system and advisers are not searched before entering. "If anything, these tapes may have landed Omarosa in hot water". Pierson said flatly, "No Ed, that did not happen", after Ed Henry read Manigault's claims from page 149 of her book.

The source claimed: "Melania is exhausted of being quiet and hiding inside the White House".

"Wacky Omarosa already has a fully signed Non-Disclosure Agreement!" he wrote.

It was not clear exactly what he was referring to.

In the book, she reportedly claims without evidence that tapes exist of Trump using the N-word as he filmed his "The Apprentice" reality series, on which she co-starred.

Hitting back, The Donald denied ever using the word, labelling Omarosa "wacky and deranged". I don't have that word in my vocabulary, and never have. On the tape, Kelly said he's been made aware of "significant integrity issues" about her, including issues that made her "open to some legal action". Hitting out at the former aide after the release of the recording, Trump tweeted: "Wacky Omarosa, who got fired 3 times on the Apprentice, now got fired for the last time".

Trevor Noah noticed the vicious attacks coming from Trump and the White House, too. On Monday, he acknowledged that a pitched battle between former reality television stars was not in many people's definition of the job.

When you give a crazed, crying lowlife a break, and give her a job at the White House, I guess it just didn't work out.

"Her flattery was apparently so important to the president, he wanted her to stay despite everything else", Tapper explained.
