"The Verge says Apple increased the battery capacity of both models to make up for the extra power draw of the new CPUs and the 15" machine's memory subsystem, and the site reports that Apple expects no change in either system's battery life as a result.

In India, Apple will be pricing the 13-inch MacBook Pro and the 15-inch MacBook Pro at Rs 149,990 and Rs 199,990 respectively. Apple says the larger new MacBook Pro is as much as 70 per cent faster than the previous model, while the smaller version is up to twice as fast as its predecessor. Going by the boost speeds the company cites for its CPU choices, Apple will offer the Core i9-8950HK as a top-end option for demanding pros in this notebook. The Iris graphics on the 13-inch Pro with Touch Bar and the AMD GPU on the 15-inch Pro are also a huge step up. The company did, however, update the keyboard that had been causing problems in previous models with a "third-generation" version.

Apple also updated its embedded ARM chip that controls the Touch Bar, Touch ID, and Siri.

The MacBook Pro's Retina display features 500 nits of brightness, support for P3 wide colour gamut, now also has True Tone display, making it the best display on a Mac. The classic MacBook Pro also had an HDMI port.

The switch to DDR4 chips allows buyers an a 32GB upgrade if 16GB of RAM isn't quite enough.
