Walmart pulls "Impeach 45" T-shirts after Trump supporters threaten boycott

Students for Trump chairman Ryan Fournier first tweeted about the anti-Trump merchandise on Monday.

Fournier's message soon went viral, leading to angry consumers threatening to boycott the company.

The retailer (wmt) is facing calls for a boycott after supporters of President Donald Trump discovered a shirt for sale readying "Impeach 45". It was sold on its marketplace, which features products by many brands, and includes political t-shirts representing many different points of view.

Walmart has not commented on the merchandise.

Old Glory is the company that sells the "Impeach 45" apparel and it's not the only one.

"These items were sold by third party sellers on our open marketplace, and were not offered directly by Walmart", a spokesperson told the BBC on Tuesday.

And while Trump supporters are in an uproar over the Impeach 45 apparel, they must have forgotten that Walmart is a business and also sells a plethora of "Make America Great Again" hats, tee-shirts and cups to drink their haterade from. By Tuesday afternoon the items appear to have been taken down from the Walmart site.

"We're removing these types of items pending review of our marketplace policies", a representative for Walmart said via email.

Walmart has caused outrage over its apparel before. The company removed a shirt with the slogan "Rope. Tree. Journalist. SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED" was listed on its website through an outside company.

Teespring had their shirts pulled off the Walmart website days later.
