On Tuesday, Epic Games will host an 50-team, 100-person invitational event during the Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles for its popular game Fortnite.

Nintendo announced that Fortnite: Battle Royale would be live in the U.S. from 10 AM PT on June 12. Aside from multiple leaks thanks to news outlets and ratings boards, now another leak has revealed the Fortnite Nintendo Switch release date and download size.

Sony, which has previously faced criticism for refusing to allow cross-play between PS4 gamers and Xbox One gamers for Fortnite matchmaking, evidently hasn't softened its stance for Nintendo gamers either.

The Fortnite Switch downloads will be going live June 12, in all regions, something that may have come as a surprise to handheld owners.

Epic's Nick Chester confirmed the news following this version's announcement during the Nintendo presentation. This means you'll be required to make a separate account to use on another platform. Even if you unlink your PS4 from your Epic Games account, you still won't be able to play using that account on Nintendo Switch. You don't want your account locked to a PC and PlayStation when you have so much more abilities to play with a lot more people by keeping it connected to literally any of your other platforms. You can also purchase a Battle Pass season subscription at a cost of about $10. The game's rise in popularity has led to numerous other developers attempting to inject the mode into their own IPs, including Activision with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and EA with Battlefield V.
