BlackBerry Key2 images leaked ahead of expected launch on Thursday

Just yesterday we saw some official renders of the next Blackberry flagship, the KEY2, leaked by EvLeaks. This phone will be the successor of last year's KEYone. I'm pretty bad at waiting until the last minute to do that, but it should go without saying, the blogs are about to light up with lots of BlackBerry KEY2 news and content and you'll undoubtedly want to stay tuned for all the latest!

In view of the launch, the alleged images of the new device were leaked online and gave us an idea of what we can expect in tomorrow's official announcement.

Frequent mobile tipster Evan Blass shared images of what he says is the BlackBerry Key2 on Twitter, showing the phone from multiple angles. I was a huge fan of the first, and I'm intrigued to see how TCL (the licensor of the BlackBerry brand) has improved on arguably the best physical keyboard phone to date. On the front, the BlackBerry KEY2 will feature an 8-megapixel camera for taking clearer selfies and an enhanced video calling experience.

The BlackBerry Key2 also apparently has a 3,500mAh battery, 64GB or 128GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headphone port, fast charging, and runs Android 8.1 Oreo. The renders highlight the touch and type form factor of the upcoming smartphone and detail its premium design. The key 2 is rumoured to have the same size screen but an upgraded Snapdragon 660 processor described here.

While talking about the fingerprint scanner, the Key2 is expected to house the biometric sensors on the spacebar of the keyboard like its predecessor. In as much as I was always concerned with ways to delete the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) app completely from the phone, I always appreciated how easily the phone handled my hours from daily schedule to bed time to the morning wake up alarm. The company has already revealed a lot about the Key2 in its recent teasers, and we know that it is coming with a dual rear camera setup and a QWERTY Keyboard with a mystery button.
