Trump's Anti-Semitic Faith Adviser To Speak At US Embassy Opening In Jerusalem

"Robert Jeffress says 'you'll be able to't be saved by being a Jew, ' and 'Mormonism is a heresy from the pit of hell.' He's mentioned the identical about Islam", Romney, a Mormon, wrote on Twitter over the weekend. Islam, he also said, "promotes pedophilia".

Jeffress, like many other Religious Right leaders, has opposed the "two-state solution", long an anchor of US policy in the Middle East, because he believes that it would violate God's will for Israel to give up control of land in the West Bank to a future Palestinian state.

Pastor Robert Jeffress, a faith adviser to President Donald Trump, is expected to speak at the opening of the new US Embassy in Jerusalem.

He's the clerical representative of that system.

Senate candidate and former Presidential candidate Mitt Romney objected to the inclusion of Pastor Robert Jeffress in the opening of the new embassy in Jerusalem.

Not deterred, an unimpressed Jeffress responded to essentially say there's nothing to see here. "The truth that I, together with tens of hundreds of thousands of evangelical Christians all over the world, proceed to espouse that perception, is neither bigoted nor newsworthy".

He has also called Mormonism "a cult" that is not a true part of Christianity and said "you can't be saved by being a Jew", Haaretz reported. "We sometimes use the same terminology but it has vastly different meanings and I just really encourage people now that they know Mormonism is a theological cult, to go ahead and do the research on their own", he said at the time.

During his remarks at the embassy opening, Jeffress expressed "gratitude for our tremendous President Donald Trump" the "strong leadership" of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and "pray for the peace of Jerusalem". Jeffress said the Bible declares that "God will judge any nation that divides the land that God gave to Israel". Trump announced in December that he was relocating the embassy to Jerusalem, a move that drew global condemnation and sparked concerns of a widening conflict in the Middle East.
